Do you own, or are you thinking of starting an e-commerce website? No matter what you sell, product photos can make or break your business.

It's hardly surprising that people want to see what they're buying. Yet many e-commerce websites show a single, small and often low-quality product photograph.

Selling over the Internet can be hard enough without asking people to buy something they can barely see.

Using professionally shot product photos

It's no coincidence that successful e-commerce websites like Amazon offer multiple, well shot images of the products they sell.

They've found out through testing that more than one photo helps to boost sales.

Of course, you could always do a little a/b testing yourself to see what impact good product photography can have on the sales of your website.

Test the theory?

It's easy; take one product, let half your visitors see photo A (an average photo) and other half photo B (the professionally shot photo). I'd be very surprised if you didn't see an impact on the number of sales.
